ALFIE vs. SEX ED

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article2233878.ece

URL above is an article of shocking headlines going around the world.
shocking 13-year-old boy,
or rather a dad.
at such a tender age, children of this age should still be
figuring out the meaning of sex rather than putting it into action.

despite the increasing numbers of campaigns and
advertisements about safe sex,
accidents like such still happen.
this particular news managed to get onto many front page of
newspapers around the world.
though media could be a form of influence to the society,
people who misread the intentional
meaning may serve as a bad influence ultimately to
themselves or people around them.

movies, television programs have now become
more liberal in their content wise.
in the past, we often have contents that are restricted
for certain viewers,
such as children whom are under the age of 16 or 18 in
some countries.
in these days now, we are seeing more and more contents
that are considered
explicit for some adults or parents.
however, i feel that it should not serve as a bad influence
or should not be misinterpreted to the audience.

likewise, parents should try to spend more time with
their children and to understand
their perceptions towards media influences,
and not restrict them to the media.
guide them is they are unsure of the intended meaning from media.
advocate them with the right knowledge to deal with such matters.
this way, they will be more self conscious as they are able to
view matters from different angle.
as media is a very powerful form of communication,
parents and adults should make use of it wisely.

nice song you have, pictures of you.

i feel that perception could be altered. and very much towards the people you spend most time with. your parents, your family basically. unless you are living alone..
my parents have been telling me what kind of behavior a girl must have and stuff of such. but that's purely towards their own viewpoint and most likely, also passed down from the previous generations!

i feel that the media are changing or are opening and adopting the western attitude of being open about a lot matters such as intimacy, political and economical issues.
in a way to alter the audiences perception.
that's why we are seeing more local production that are increasing in their popularity. because people are more likely to accept social norms such as openness.

yeah, agree. the media seems to be bringing us and influencing us to become more like the western people.. and many youngsters or the new generations are keen to be like them. they feel that it's something new and fresh that worth their try. therefore, parents or guidance for the children should make use of media wisely. either through write-ins, or just discuss the facts that are aired for the audiences. :D

by the way, latest news about Alfie being the youngest dad in Britain in untrue, as it has been confirmed with a DNA Test. Because Maisie's mother, Chantell had sexual intercourse with not only Alfie but many other boys of their age; therefore, it is still not clear who is the baby's father. A friend of the Chantell's family told the media that they had claimed that Alfie was the father to get some fast cash through the media.

realized how powerful the media is to the commoner? :)

below is the link to the short article as published on online Straits Times.

yeah, people are keen to earn fast cash even though it might bring them embarrassment from audience. this also reflects how it is like in our society, where the people would go the extra mile for some things that they really want in return.

however, exposure of such cases definitely sends out a level of warning to younger children that if they want to do some thing like that, they have to make sure that they are free from consequences, otherwise, bearing it.
